Adding a bidet to your washroom

Adding a bidet to your washroom

When you purchase a new house, the water taps supplied by the house developer are normally of good quality and it will be a waste if we were to remove this original good quality water tap, put aside and replace with another dual output water taps just to cater for the installation of a bidet for the toilet bowl. Is that the only way? No, it isn’t. It is just one of the way but definitely not the only way.

Here is an alternative. Check the incoming water supply to the toilet bowl’s water tank.

Yes, that’s the alternative for the water supply to the bidet!!! (However, this indeed cost a little more effort than just replacing the single output water tape to dual output water tap, but it is manageable, no worry.)

If the incoming water supply to the toilet bowl’s water tank in your toilet looks something similar to the one shown in the picture, follow the following guide to install a bidet to your toilet bowl

Getting Started

You will need an adjustable spanner to do the job. Get all these items below from any hardware shops near you. For your information, items shown in the pictures below are purchased from Mr DiY shop.

First, closed the existing one-way-water-valve to stop the water supply to the toilet bowl’s water tank. Unscrew the flexible host from the one-way-water-valve’s output. Put a few rounds of pipe-thread-sealing-tape around the one way water valve output as shown.

Apply a few rounds of pipe-thread-sealing-tape around both ends of the pipe-to-pipe-connector. Install the pipe-to-pipe-connector to the T-junction-connector as shown.

Connect the T-junction-connector to the one-way-water-valve’s output. Connect back the flexible host to the pipe-to-pipe connector as shown.

Now, install a second one-way-water-valve to the T-junction-connector. Do remember to apply a few rounds of pipe-thread-sealing-tape at the one-way-water-valve’s thread, before connecting it to the T-junction-connector.

Install the bidet to the second one-way-water-valve’s output.

There you go, job done.
